Justin Gatlin is an American sprinter. This sportsman tested positive for banned medications in 2006 and served a 4-year ban. It was defined that he had used testosterone. Since his 4-year ban is over, this athlete was waiting to be accepted back. But it seems that this sprinter doesn’t know the laws of the return to the world of sports. A sportsperson who has served a certain ban because of intake of performance-enhancing medications is not accepted back automatically. He\She has to admit publicly that it was an immense mistake; he\she has to apologize “with tears in his\her eyes” that he\she has taken performance-enhancing drugs
But this athlete desires to do things his way. The American athlete announced that he had never used banned products intentionally. this athlete claimed that he had tested positive for steroids because a vindictive masseuse had applied a testosterone cream during a massage. In fact this excuse was taken from a book of Lance Armstrong, a former American cyclist. Justin Gatlin has not changed the Laurence’s excuse at all in about 5 years.
Since Justin Gatlin didn’t admit taking steroids publicly, sports reporters interviewed him many times. Justin Gatlin was asked whether he was going to admit using prohibited preparations. Once it has been made clear that Justin Gatlin had administrated banned medications intentionally. It was during an interview made by a reporter of New York Times. Justin Gatlin noted that he would admit using anabolic steroids intentionally in exchange for a hug! Can you imagine it? The New York Times reporter told the American sprinter that people would embrace him more, if he admits. Nevertheless, Gatlin remained “invincible”, asking: “If I say it right now, are you gonna give me a hug?”
Since Justin Gatlin has already the support of the USA Track and Field (USATF), it is beleived that he will never admit using forbidden drugs. It is unclear how he has received the support because Jill Greer, the spokesperson for the USATF, says that USATF doesn’t support athletes that have ever used steroids intentionally. Such sportspersons should be ignored, according to USATF. The case connected with Justin Gatlin shows that the statement of the spokesperson isn’t practically respected.
