Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, is also the president of the National Olympic Committee. He was very disappointed after the Belarusian female shot-putter Nadzeya Ostapchuk tested positive for a forbidden drug. The president was too frustrated. Alexander Lukashenko turned out to be a serious fan of sports. He felt ashamed that representatives of his country spoiled Belarusian’s sports reputation by positives for prohibited medicines. As a result, he stated that certain changes would be added to laws.
The president of Belarus noted that it was needed to criminalize application of banned medications in sports. Thus, sports will be probably clean. This affirmation was pronounced by the Belarusian president after Nadzeya Ostapchuk was caught applying methenolone. This steroid is also known as Primobolan.
Alexander Lukashenko wants to see that his country succeeds in sports on the international scene. If the Belarusian president wants to clean his country’s sports, he will be able to do it. Several facts show that this person has achieved numerous goals linked with his country.
In fact, Alexander Lukashenko is a strict president. He was even accused of human rights abuses. He can change the situation in sports by force too.
Lukashenko doesn’t plan to talk about administration of prohibited drugs in sports. There are other things that should be discussed, according to the Belarusian president.
Anatoliy Tozik, the Vice-President for Alexander Lukashenko, confirmed that they could form a sports scientific center that would be sponsored by the state. The center would conduct scientific researches connected with mental and pharmacological support for elite sportspersons. The Belarusian president agreed to form this center.
It is not yet clear whether the president will clean sports at any cost. Will he use his force for this need?
